ExperienceU.S. Marine Corps 2004 to Present

Current Assignment: Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC), 2010 Present

Communications Chief Responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of all information systems within the Battalion including the integration, administration and user support of the Tactical Local Area Network (TACLAN) and all Special Operations Forces Deployable Nodes (SDN’s), and assist the communications officer in the planning, optimization, and maintenance of Local Area Networks (LAN’s) and Wide Area Networks (WAN’s).

Key Results:           — Supervised the implementation of the Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection aboard the USS Boxer for the Special Operation Forces Liaison Element (SOFLE). This VPN provided Special Operation Forces (SOF) communications to the Naval Vessel liaisons to include TACLAN computers, VOIP phones, and VTC capabilities. This was the first successful attempt at VPN connections aboard ships for this battalion. VPN connectivity streamlined maritime communications for the command; setting a standard to emulate.

— Supervised a four man support element with $2.7 million worth of data, radio, and satellite

communications equipment in Herat Afghanistan for a ten months period. Implemented the transition from a separate domain to an organizational unit (OU) infrastructure with the creation of physical servers that were a branch of the root domain. These servers that were created are still in use to this day.

— Provided constant and uninterrupted communications expertise in the planning process to safely move

and support an element of more than 300 personnel and $2.7 million worth of gear from Herat to

Helmand.

— Supervised and assisted in the creation and integration of a replication data network infrastructure. This process included creation of both physical and virtual server environments, multiple CISCO switches and routers, redundancy creation and backup performance. Among items integrated include the Tactical Local Area Network (TACLAN), SDN-Heavy, and several servers and switches from the Combat Operations Center (COC) suite.

— Lead data systems administrator for SDN suites during multiple capability exercises providing data

support to key personnel. Suites ranged from BGANS to SDN-M’s and required both SIPR and NIPR with VOIP and VTC capabilities. Communications assets maintained uninterrupted connectivity during all operations.
